Mission: Provide leadership statewide to minimize the digital divide by accelerating the deployment and adoption of broadband and other advanced communication services to unserved and underserved communities.
Programs: Cetf was established and funded through the sbc/att and verizon/mci merger agreements approved by the california public utilities commission in november 2005 during the fiscal year ended june 30, 2008. The organization hired staff and consultants, procured resources and infrastracture necessary to carry out its mission of "achieving ubiquitious access to broadband and advanced services in california, particularly in underserved communities through the use of existing and emerging technologies".
