We Care has had an incredibly powerful impact on our family. One of our twin daughters was born with special needs and We Care was the top facility in the area offering a full-inclusion program that allowed us to keep our girls together in the same program. We have been thrilled with all of the love and care our girls have received from the amazing staff at We Care. Everyone we have encountered has gone above and beyond the call of duty to meet the needs of both our special needs and typical children. Thank you for your outstanding services, We Care!!

We Care provides a warm, caring, and educational environment for my son. The staff is supportive and dynamic. They are always quick to give suggestions and my son is reaching his goals at an impressive pace. More specifically, the programs are great, the facilities are very clean, and they take great care to keep me informed of daily and weekly activities. This really is a very special place.

What a difference We Care makes in children's and family's lives. Their experienced teachers and staff support the whole family, as well as each child in their classes. Everything is offered on-site: speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and tailored to each child's needs. Our child blossomed at We Care, and felt safe and secure with his teachers. We loved our time at We Care!

Like many parents, I waited excitedly to hear my daughter's first words. And waited. And waited. Yet by the time she neared two years old, she had yet to say "Mama" or "Dada". She was diagnosed to with a language/social delay just shy of her 23 month birthday. Our case worker recommended group therapy at We Care.
She began attending classes at We Care two weeks after her second birthday. To say that she has thrived would be an understatement. She began communicating through sign and started adding to her spoken vocabulary.
While her speech is still a work in progress, she's not afraid to try to say what she wants... and now I've got quite a chatterbox on my hands! Every word she speaks is like music to my ears -- so different from the tantrums and frustration that ruled her just one year ago! Best of all, we have finally heard the words, "I love you, Mommy/Daddy." So much of this is thanks to the wonderful work that We Care has done with her and we cannot thank We Care enough.
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the programs at We Care. Our overall experience has been glowingly positive -- my daughter is proof positive of that. The teachers and staff really care about the kids, work so closely with them on to help bring out the best in each and every child.
My now 3 year old son was diagnosed with a speech and language delay and attended We Care from Feb. 2010 until December 2010. I cannot even begin to express what a difference We Care made in my son's life. The teachers and staff are just wonderful. My little guy said only a few words when he began the program, but by the time he graduated he was speaking almost in complete sentences. He also learned important social and self help skills among other things. I could never thank We Care enough for the difference they have made in the life of my son, and in the lives of our entire family.
When my 17 month old son was recently diagnosed with the same speech and language delay his brother had, I had absolutely no hesitation in deciding to have him begin attending We Care once he turns 18 months old. I have no doubt that his experience will be just as enriching and fulfilling as my older son's experience was.

I love we care service for children, my daughter was at we care 3 years ago and it saved my life. Ralie was difficult and didn't speak a word when she was 18 months of age. We care not only gave Ralie support, but they supported our family as well.
Please help we care with the services they require to run their school with the quality that they strive to have.
Sincerely,
Lynne Dahl

Our son was showing early signs of verbal communication. We took him to different doctors which said he was behind and will need to work on his speech. We were sent to the East Bay Regonial Center of Concord where we were told that he was not behind enough for their full services. Thankfully they called us about We Care Services for Children. It has been a blessing for our son! He loves going to "school" and it is amazing how many words and gestures he's learned in a short period of time. The teachers are very patient, skilled and I love how they spend most of their day on the floor at equal level with the children.
We feel welcomed and special and always allowed to stay and watch through the one way window.
We Care has been a blessing to our son and our family!
Thank you,

We have twin girls, but only one has special needs. Relatively few options exist that allow for inclusive environments - but We Care SHINES because they let our girls be together in class. This helps our daughter with special needs continue to learn from her sister, and helps our daughter with typical needs to learn to lead by good example.
The staff give their whole hearts and attention to the children every day - and it was evident from day one that our girls would receive love and excellent help/instruction from their teachers.
We Care incorporates specialized therapists to aid with the more specific challenges - and their contributions too, are incredible.
Within a few short months, our special needs daughter had begun speaking, making signs to communicate, feeding herself, and moving more confidently in play than ever before. We believe that it is because of We Care that she is experiencing such amazing progress.
Thank you We Care Teachers & Staff!

As a Chevron employee, I have volunteered at We Care Services for Children in Concord, Calfifornia, in 2010. I was very impressed with the staff and the services that the facility provides to the children and their families in the community. It was great to witness how the children actively and happily participate in the various activities. The staff genuinely enjoy interacting with the children which was evident by their sincerity in wanting to make the kids' lives better. This is a wonderful nonprofit organization which should be available in all communities! I plan to select We Care Services for Children as our ourganization's project for 2011 as well as in future years!

I work for Chevron and we volunteer for various projects at We Care. This is how I got introduced to this fantastic organization. Not only do they help and support the kids but the parents as well!
There seems to be very few Autism/Down Syndrome programs around this area. Their camp and family outings are fantastic events.
We care does SO much for the children from all backgrounds. They are definitely a shining example of hope and caring.

I've been a board member of We Care for almost three years and continue to be impressed with the dedication and expertise of the staff as they go about their important duties in improving the lives of youngsters with special needs. It's an organization that continues to grow and provide needed help in an important way in our community. Talking with those family members whose life has been positively affected by the We Care staff makes me proud to be associated with such a wonderful organization and the skilled people who provide these services on a daily basis.

My son came to We Care at age 4 having been deemed "emotionally disturbed" by his school district. That emotionally disturbed me, his mother. Our entire family was "rescued" by We Care. The administrators and teachers were not married to the qualifications on his school's paperwork. They looked at my son as an individual, a child with needs, and set out to provide him with the skills he needed to move forward in life.
My son was language deficient. He could not communicate. It was noisy at our home as he yelled and screamed a lot in his frustration. I have framed in our home a note from his teacher after 1 month in the program that celebrates his "through the roof!" progress in acquiring language skills. It has been very quiet at our home since.
My son did not know strangers, and so developed an attachment to his backpack for support. The school understood and accepted that. When a field trip was planned an exception to the "no backpacks" rule was made so that my son could share the experience and feel secure. It was "no big deal" to the other students who had learned to accept one another's needs and the supports in place to serve them. And these were 4 and 5 year-old children! Shortly a time came when my son's backpack would make the trip but was allowed to stay in the van. Eventually, a trip with no backpack! He was able to rely on the support of people in whom he had absolute faith. Faith that could not have been better placed.
The good things that came from our family's We Care experience were not constrained to serving our son. We Care, in addressing our son's needs, attended to us as a family. Discussions with teachers, classes taught by the then-director, as well as support from every one we encountered all helped us as we adjusted to having and handling special needs in our lives, while getting our arms around an Autism diagnosis to boot.
A very frightened little boy entered We Care, but was loved and gently guided for a very short 18 months. Somewhere in that time a doctor figured out that my was not emotionally disturbed, but impeded by Autism. The diagnosis was helpful, but it did not require a course correction for his teachers. They had already discerned my son's needs and made excellent plans on how to serve him. My son transitioned to elementary school beautifully and has been much adored by his teachers. His calm demeanor would never tell the tale of a child unable to communicate and scared in the world. He has built upon the lessons imparted at We Care. Some 12 years later my son is a wonderful, capable young man with a strong sense of self who has achieved academic success.
Every day, and I mean that with every fiber of my being, I see the results of the nurturing and development imparted by the wonderful teachers at We Care. My son moves through the world today a beautiful person because he - no, WE - had the good fortune to experience We Care. There is no limit to the debt of gratitude we have for the terrific We Care team. The amazing, hard-working, and truly caring staff make miracles happen every day for the families whose lives they touch.

My son received services at an early age through We Care Services, and we attribute much of his early progress to We Care's dedicated and caring staff. We Care is a fantastic organization, and I appreciated them so much that I started volunteering and joined the Board.

WeCare Services for Children provides the best in Services for Children with developmental issues. The staff is dedicated and professional. I know from the wonderful service they provided my nephew, Mikey, who suffered from fetal alcohol syndrome. The staff takes care of the child and teaches parents how to best deal with the behavioral issues these children may have.
I previously worked as a member of the board and found all the board members to be highly qualified and committed to the success of the organization.
The administration continues to provide great leadership and vision to all who interact with the organization.
I have met many people in the community who know about We Care and who believe it is the best in its class for Children's Services.

I have been consistently amazed at the level of dedication and talent the We Care Staff put into everything they do. They are constantly looking for ways to broaden outreach to local children and to provide the highest quality services available to parents and children in need.

The Know How Network is a free service that recruits and places skilled volunteers at nonprofits to accomplish short term projects. We train and work with nonprofits to develop and manage skilled volunteers. Our experience with We Care is very positive. They value and provide good supervision and leadership to their volunteers. We Care set out clear objectives and used skilled volunteers to assist with planning and executing fundraising events as well as redoing their marketing brochure. The organization is well run and very responsive and, of course, provides an important service to the community.
First we were clients who were served by this wonderful organization. Our twin boys were diagnosed with Sensory Integration Disorder when they were 5 months old and started seeing an Occupational Therapist through We Care. Through several different sets of circumstances they were able to remain at We Care through in home therapy and specialized classroom programs until they went to Kindergarten. The staff, both professional and non-professional, are warm, welcoming, knowledgeable and altogether terrific. Most of us parents get scary diagnoses and if we are able to get to We Care we get the best of everything! Our only complaint is that our boys could not stay there until they graduated from high school! We have been clients served, donors and then I became a Board Member for 5 years. There just aren't enough words to describe the good work that is being done here!!!!

We Care has helped children in our community for 50 years. I started volunteering in 1990 and realized what fantastic work they do for children with special needs. The staff is very knowledgeable plus they provide their services in a very loving environment. I have seen children who were not expected to walk or talk graduate the program and guess what - they were walking and talking. My husband and I now are donors and feel that our money really makes a difference in the lives of children; preparing them for their next step in life with the skills they need to reach their potential.
