since this rescue center opened in 2007, i have seen many abuse and neglect cases in our area. we have to date rescued over 50 equines, including donkeys, mules and minis as well. with our rehabilitation and training programs, 35 of those rescues have found new homes with no returns or regrets. Cindy Jackson, the director of animals affairs, has used her horse sense and just all out love for these animals to accomplish these goals. as other caring volunteers join us, our rescue center will always be known for its desire to help other equines and keep its doors open as long as we are needed. horses are a part of Americas heritage and we as Americans must realize that equine abuse and neglect should never be tolerated.
I adopted both of my boys from this amazing rescue and both are very valued members of the family now! Amazing folks!
We have had the honor more than once to visit this rescue. Bill and Cindy were gracious hosts who introduced us to all of the horses rescued from abuse of some sort. They give all they have to make a difference in the lives of the horses.
I have been a. Guest at the ranch several times. Bill and Cindy do a great job of taking care of the horses. They let the kids ride certain ones that they know will not hurt anybody. I am great friends of Bill a ND Cindy, although I don't live in Arizona any more I still talk to them online. They have a great friendship that nobody else can have. Love you guys and miss you. Hope to come home and visit with you.
I met Cynthia Jackson (co-founder) when my husband & I first purchased our place in Dolan Springs and we were at the restaurant Cyndy waitressed at . I heard about the rescue then & said to her, give me a couple months to get settled and I would love to volunteer out there. I have, for over 2 years. Most of the time I just love the horses, donkeys and mini mules, talk to them, pet them, donate hay/special food monthly, help feed them and of course give them treats. Cyndy says that is one of the most important things the rescue animals need is that human touch & love so they can trust again, as they all have very sad stories about why they had to be rescued. Bill (her husband and co-founder) & Cyndy have found great homes for so many of the rescue animals. Cyndy has unfortunately been very sick, had a hip replacement so hasn't been able to work at the restaurant for way over a year. She's finally on the mend and gets down to see the horses but still can not really lift things yet nor really isn't able to work with the horses as before. It's a small rescue. Bill and Cyndy have very limited funds so for any special horse needs, it's very hard for them to come up with the money. As I said to so many people, one bale of hay can make a world of difference to these beautiful animals. Here is a picture of Cyndy, myself and my guy EMale who didn't want his picture taken. (I take too many and he gets tired of it...LOL). Please check them out on facebook so you can see all the rescued horses and how many have found homes - C Bar J Horsehaven Rescue, Inc.
I became familiar with the c bar j horse rescue, by accident, was in the local grocery and a friend gave a co-worker a horse pin for being the treasurer of the c bar j, i asked about them, got the number, and called up bill jackson and made an appt to go and look at the horses,,, little did i know that i would fall in love with all of the poor horses. my husband and i adopted 2, a mare, that was starved near to death by the name of hope, bill and cyndi took her in, got her fed and brought her back from the brink of death, and an appy, whose was blinded in one eye by his previous owner, sadly i lost hope, but she had a good year with me, and since them we have adopted 2 more horses, a quarter horse and a mini horse to give bubby, our appy some company, and will be adopting some more in the near future. bill and cyndi selflessly take in many poor and abused horses from around the state, feed them, rehab them and take them into their hearts. for the horses that dont find a home, they remain with bill and cyndi, no matter what, being loved, fed, and taken care of, before the needs of the jacksons,, i for one will tell anyone, if they want a horse, go and see what the rescue has, everyone horse needs a loving home, and these horses that bill and cyndi have taken in,, more so than any others. below are 4 success stories, our beloved hope, samson, our lil rock star, nevada, and bubby bear, our appy. give one of the rescues horses a forever home, and a place in your heart.
