Mission: The organization's mission is to create access to bikes and the opportunities they provide for our entire community.
Programs: "get a bike" program provides used bicycles and bicycle parts, bicycle services and cycling gear to low-income vermonters at a reasonable cost. This program provides and continues to give access to affordable, reliable and safe transportation for people with limited financial resources. By repairing and reusing discarded bicycles and bicycle parts the corporation continues to fulfill its committment to sustainability through the "get a bike" program. Realizing the impact bicycles can have on an individual's life, the project offers resources aimed at vocational training and professional development. See schedule o the project makes internships, work experience and volunteer positions available to high school students from alternative school programs, recently incarcerated, non-violent offenders and other people with barriers to employment. The project also offers "youth shop" which provides youths ages 12-18 with an after-school opportunity to learn bicycle shop mechanics and management from professionals. Its participants gain a hands-on experience and a variety of life skills. The project includes a mobile repair unit for outreach and in order to repair bikes where customers live and work.
