The fund accepts donations on behalf of thefollowing organizations and for the purposes described herein:the buffalo news neediest fund - an annual food, clothing, and toy drive providing for more than 12,000 western new york families. Project flight - provides books to needy children and cash to purchase braille, large print, and special-needs books. Variety kids and women & children's hospital - over $3. 8 million hasbeen raised through the sale of a special edition "kids day" newspaper with all the proceeds benefiting the hospital and other local no-profits that deal with special-needs children. Keep wny beautiful - after a devastating storm in 2006, the news initiated a green lead campaign to raise funds to reforest wny. Cradle beach - the news raised funds to support a residential camp program that serves nearly 1,100 children with disabilities and from economically disadvantaged families
