Our medical care, therapies, and special services help each person build on strengths and compensation for any limitations. Our stroke patients are between 42 and 97 years old, although patients as young as 18 have been admitted. Average inpatient stay is about three weeks, but can vary widely. Between 75-80% of stroke survivors return home after discharge. Many of our patients come to us from an acute-care hospital and are experiencing difficulty with walking, speaking, and eating. A second chance program is available for patients who did not have the opportunity for comprehensive rehab after their stroke.
