Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology (ACEP)

I first joined ACEP about 20 years ago. As someone who never really fit into the bell curve, I found my "home" with other open-minded seekers who combined intelligence with intuition and enjoyed going deeper into subjects as we embraced the science and spirituality of topics. We learned from innovators in the field who were Keynotes at our conferences such as Dr. Bruce Lipton (Epigenetics), Dr. Stephen Porgess (PolyVagal Theory), Dr. Bessel van der Kolk (Psychiatrist & trauma expert), Dr. Eben Alexander (Neurosurgeon who journeyed into the afterlife on his deathbed & lived to tell about it). And SO many other brilliant minds over the years. This is where we can gather to share and learn with open hearts and open minds. Many programs became available to study at the conference, online or in person at another location during the year. Our conference always has breakout sessions and pre and post workshops & trainings. You're never a stranger in this organization! And there are many opportunities to join committees and meet others in the burgeoning field of mind-body-spirit within the professional realm. The field of Energy Psychology (EP) is unlike anything I've ever studied. Patients would come to see me saying their previous therapist told them they had to "learn to live with their condition" (usually trauma-related). In EP, we can help identify & break energetic patterns that hold psychological patterns in place. It can seem rather miraculous, but there is actually a science to the energy of energy psychology.

ACEP excels in three areas: resources, expertise and commitment.

The courses, studies and industry events help practitioners and interested individuals incorporate the principles of Energy Psychology into their healing practices in a helpful and impactful way. The training offered is accessible and thorough.

The leadership team and volunteers maintain an association focused on creating value for practitioners and providing service. What I find most impressive is that over the past 20 years, ACEP has collected and refined the practice of Energy Psychology and its integration with other methods of treatment.

The commitment of the volunteers and members shows strongly in the tenure of experience and high level of engagement in sharing comments, feedback and ideas.

I have been a member of this organization since 2005 and a member of the Board of Directors since 2017. During this time, I have been very involved and know the organization quite well. This organization has grown significantly. They do an excellent job of education lay people as well as clinical mental health professionals, which has led to increased knowledge and use of energy psychology practices. Free resources are shared on the website and a free summit was held this year to spread knowledge.

I really enjoy the mission of ACEP. It has been helpful as a provider to find an environment that values the same things that I do, considering the whole person (mind, body, spirit). The organization has offered healing spaces for me, professional development, and developing a general sense of community as an early career psychologist.

ACEP is the most important organization promoting energy psychology around the world. It offers valuable training and education for coaches, healthcare professionals and energy healers. I have been a member for over 20 years and never miss the annual conference.

ACEP was the first professional association to unite the diverse family of Energy Psychology methods so this field can effectively foster collaboration, credibility, ethics, standards of practice, and professional development, among the field's leaders, innovators, researchers, and practitioners. Now, more than 25 years since this nonprofit was founded, it remains the global thought leader in continuing to steward high quality development in field of Energy Psychology.

ACEP has provided much-needed supplementary resources that I offer to my clients and those I supervise. The Resources for Resilience (R4R) link is something I routinely provide to them. The exercises made available are short, practical, and easily utilized when required. Thank you ACEP for your diligence to serve in ways that really work.

I've been a professional member of this amazing organization for close to ten years, and it has been truly an honor to be serving in my first year as a member of the Board of Directors. As so many others have already noted, ACEP has been home to me for so many reasons, not the least of which is the fact that there is no other organization with the heart-centered focus and commitment to empowering individuals to take charge of their health and healing. ACEP truly leads the way in educating and awakening people in so many different arenas to the power of energy practices and approaches including EP as pathways to improved health and wellbeing. As a young professional at the beginning of making my name in my career, ACEP helped me better define the practitioner I wanted to be, AND they supported me in making some big steps that completely Jumpstarted my private practice. Now, I am well established in my community and I am known for being a top provider of non-medication-based supports for mental health and healing in my region. ACEP gave me the tools to create the niche of my work. I am so glad I found them when I did, and now I can make the biggest impact possible in my community!

I had stumbled upon a popular mind-body technique about 15 years ago and I was intrigued but didn't really get it, and I didn't really like it ... but I saw a little research that showed it was very effective, and the research (and anecdotes) kept coming. Five years later, I decided to sign up for ACEP's training on comprehensive energy psychology, and it made such a difference! It tied up the loose ends of the original therapy I had seen years before. The training was top-notch, and I decided to become a member of this professional organization dedicated to helping people through using mind-body mental health tools. I went on to blog about research, then chaired the committee, and finally became a board member. I met my tribe and am so happy to help spread the word about powerful effective tools for mental health.

To me, this organization is doing a tremendously important job of helping people find emotional well-being, which is why I volunteer my time and effort to furthering its goals.

ACEP has served as a leading non profit organization since its inception in 1999.

ACEP continues to make achievements in:
Training over 10,000 individuals in energy psychology. In addition, ACEP is the only energy psychology organization to be an APA approved CE provider. 
Raised over $85,000 dollars for humanitarian efforts. In addition, ACEP has treated trauma in refugees, veterans and genocide survivors.
Funding through 13 research studies on energy psychology
Advocacy by lobbying to add energy psychology as an integrative treatment for veterans, providing telehealth treatment for veterans and requiring NCCIH to conduct research on integrative methods that address PTSD for veterans.

Finally, ACEP welcomes a diverse and global membership.

The Association of Comprehensive Energy Psychology, ACEP, has a 25 year history of excellence. ACEP is where I learned energy healing. ACEP has the highest quality trainers. The conference is second to none. It is an honor to be a member and serve on the board of directors.

ACEP is the pre-eminent professional organization for practitioners of the novel form of psychotherapy called energy psychology. ACEP has been instrumental in informing the public, and the profession of psychotherapy, about the benefits of these approaches. By fostering research, enhancing communication across professional bridges, and bringing new practitioners into the fold, ACEP is laying the foundation for a very positive future for the field of psychotherapy. ACEP is a professional organization dedicated to the research and education of energy healing modalities internationally. ACEP is an incredible organization. It was founded to support research on energy psychology and energy practices, to teach EP methods to practitioners, to promote the highest ethical standards of practice, and to spread the word about EP among professionals and the general public. It's done a wonderful job. Even more important, it provides a home and a deep sense of community for energy practitioners from all modalities. I joined ACEP in 2000 and have attended every annual conference since then. What I've learned about EP in that time has been of immeasurable benefit to my work as a psychologist and trauma specialist and to my own personal growth. Of all of the organizations I belong to, ACEP gets my time, my energy and my money. It's my privilege to serve as ACEP's current president.

I have been a member of ACEP for three years now. In the past year I became DCEP certified and am on the Membership Committee. Everyone who I have meet who is part of ACEP have all been warm and welcoming. For the longest time I felt so different and not part of the mainstream society. Now I feel as if I have found my tribe, I feel as if I am part of an origination who is bringing new innovative processes to the world of healing. I am excited to be part of ACEP.

I became I member of ACEP in 2005 and then attended my first ACEP conference in 2008. I was amazed at what I saw and what I learned. I have not missed a conference since then. ACEP gets my time and money because of its leadership in energy pyschology research, teaching, and counseling. Recently ACEP has focused increasingly on inclusion, which helps the organization extend its reach, and also increasingly on cultural competence and humility, striving for more individual self-awareness about how each of our own set of beliefs and values has been shaped by our own experiences and might be very very different from someone else's, with neither being 'right' or 'wrong'---Some recent focus by our board of directors on this arena has made me more impressed with our team than I was before, and I was already very impressed with ACEP's good work and very effective use of its relatively modest resources.

I have benefitted both personally and professionally from my association with the Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology. ACEP offers support to everyone involved in the field of Energy Psychology by providing trainings, workshops and a web site with resources on multiple topics. There is always an emphasis on making sure that whatever is being provided is done so in a professional and excellent manner. The next yearly ACEP conference is something I start to look forward to as I'm leaving the last ACEP conference.

The Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology (ACEP) is devoted to sharing evolving and cutting-edge psychotherapy techniques that foster more rapid psychotherapy progress. Both methodology and exploring the science behind these techniques are pursued by ACEP. As an organization, ACEP offers teaching and Conference opportunities to share the learning and advancement of these Energy Psychology approaches.

I've been involved with ACEP since my first Energy Psychology Conference in 2009. Since then I've attended many conferences, have become certified in EFT (Tapping) through ACEP, and have become a consultant and group facilitator for ACEP's EFT Certification program for clinicians. I can honestly say that there is no non-profit organization that has ever provided more value to my life than ACEP.

Some of my closest friends, most respected colleagues, greatest inspirations and professional support have all come from my experiences with ACEP. It has transformed my life both professionally and personally. The integrity and support of this community is second to none. And the service they provide to the emerging science of Energy Psychology is a gift to the world and to the entire field of Psychology.

I have been a member and supporter of this professional organization since 2001. They do incredible work promoting emotional health and wellbeing to practitioners and their clients all over the world.

I have been in the mental health field for almost 30 years, and during this time I have attended many different types of trainings, and been affiliated with many different organizations.
In the last several years I have been looking for a training program and organization that felt substantial and important enough to commit my time and energy to, and that was not very easy to find. In 2018, I'm happy to report that I have found this in ACEP., and I'm currently working toward certification in the ACEP training program.

I chose ACEP for several reasons:
1) The work that ACEP teaches and promotes is extremely powerful in its capacity to help people. Even after so many years in the field (and perhaps especially because of my experience), I am so very impressed by the healing that I am already seeing this work facilitate. When I say 'healing' I'm referring to individual situations that I've already seen personally, but I also see great potential for this work to spread healing throughout the world on a much larger scale (which is discussed in the organization's literature). This is a very important and exciting prospect indeed!
2) ACEP is committed to making their healing modalities available to the public, as evidenced by the various videos and materials that they have made available for sharing to anyone who might benefit from them. This demonstrates a strong humanitarian consciousness, and a sense of social commitment - both of which are very important to me;
3) An integral part of the training program is focused on ethical and legal awareness and guidelines for trainees. This is clear evidence to me that the organization strongly values adherence to the highest ethical and professional standards in order to insure that everyone involved, whether students, practitioners or clients are being treated in the most ethically sound manner possible. This is another quality of the organization that I value very strongly.

In summary, I am delighted to share my ACEP experience here. I recommend ACEP most highly as an organization whose values and mission are deserving of support and continued growth.

I first encountered energy testing/medicine/psychology in the early 90s with a chiropractor to find where my body needed the most help and then again with a psychologist a few years later. I had forgotten how effective it was until pursuing a doctorate in psychology durning the mid 2000s when a professor reintroduced "tapping" and talked about ACEP. Attending my first conference in 2007, I found a home. While the presentations were excellent, the members open and supportive, and the keynoters tops in their field, what really struck me that first year was ACEP's dedication to energy psychological research and humanitarian outreach. I like to say that all my psychological methodologies are an anathema to the APA; spiritual, somatic (body), energy, and pre- and perinatal (psychology of children from conception through 18 months). And yet, efficacy for all has been established by research published in peer reviewed journals. ACEP is at the forefront in proving its members with the research and needed tools to practice energy methodologies, not only to psychologists and psychiatrists, but also to coaches, energy practitioners, and body workers. While ACEP's efforts are directed to its member, the focus is on bringing healing energy methodologies to the world. For all these reasons, I have been a member for ten years, served in its leadership for six years, and feel my $1,000+ donations to ACEP are among the best contributions I make each year.

I have been a member of ACEP since its inception as well as board member and Past President. ACEP is dedicated to spreading the word about the power of Energy Psychology, offering wonderful conferences and trainings world wide. I have met amazing practitioners and teachers who have inspired me in my own work as a psychotherapist, teacher and author.

ACEP is a place where practitioners at the forefront of expanded understanding about human psychology can find a home; learn from others; and share with others the powers of these amazing methods, helping the world to heal and advance. I've been a member almost since the beginning and have always found that the heart and spirit of sharing and giving here to be truly remarkable. They are achieving both scientific credibility and deep heart connection, an integration that itself is essential to the healing of the world.

I first attended a conference of this organization in 2005 and fell in love with ACEP - and have made the transatlantic journey every year since then. Its staff and members of its Board and committees and other volunteers work hard all year to make the remarkable healing modalities of energy psychology available to as many people as possible around the world, and also to promote research. Thanks to the educational work of ACEP, I introduced energy psychology to our British National Health Service - resulting in dramatic clinical improvements and a collapse of waiting times in our locality.

As a licensed psychologist since 1974, and also having held a position on the faculty of a major university medical school, no innovation has meant more to my professional success than the approach that this organization advocates. And it has not only advocated the approach, it has embraced numerous factions into a cooperative community, it has created an exemplary approach to ethics, and it has created and maintained high standards of competence and practice for its members.

As the co-founder and first president of ACEP whose term ended in 2002, I am admittedly biased. But to see this organization continue to thrive and grow 17 years after we first established it is a real testimony to its quality. To see it do this in ways that sustainably honor and integiously build upon its founding vision is even an even more compelling testimony. To watch it keep having an ever-increasingly vast impact in helping to create a better world moves me beyond words. As professional in mental health I learned a lot through the Acep about EP. I think this kind of tools or models are very important to share. I used them in my private practice but also in humanitarian action as Haïti in training of psychologists to beter answer to PTSD and to help the population...

I had the possibility to help a mother with three kids and severe disease very quickly. I could stabilize her and she was able to find the energy to fight against the disease... As a disenfranchised psychiatric psychotherapist, I've found a home in ACEP. I trained when psychiatry was all psychotherapy and refused the pressures to switch to only prescribing medications.This was difficult to do in the context of shortened contact times associated with only writing prescriptions. Energy Psychology has given me the tools to provide brief, potent therapy. I now practice in Canada as a wholistic psychothrerapist using Energy Psychology. ACEP is the professional American hub for information, training, conferences and innovations in these new methods. i am pleased and honored to serve on ACEP's Advisory Board, and to attend their annual meeting, which is one of the highlights of my year.

I continue to work with ACEP because it is the only non-profit of its kind promoting professional and ethical standards and increasing public awareness of this powerful healing field of energy psychology. The mission of the organization is to help alleviate suffering throughout the world through the tools of energy psychology, and this is greatly needed at this time.

I am a licensed psychologist and have been a member of ACEP for six years. When I first "discovered" Energy Psychology as a new approach that integrated various modalities with which I was already familiar into highly effective techniques, I also discovered ACEP as a home for like-minded people and practitioners. It didn't take long to discover that it was a lot more than a physical (at the conference) or virtual (online) gathering place; it is an Association in the best sense of the term; a very dynamic gathering of committed, involved and active people, dedicated to the development of the field, to sharing and discovering amongst themselves, and to bringing the best of what they can offer to the world. ACEP has a collective energy fueled by motivated individuals with a commitment to developing an ethical and professional body of practitioners, solid research that advances the field, a vibrant and inclusive organization, and relevance in the world by creating programs applying these techniques to the benefit of the public here and abroad. That is what has motivated me to volunteer for the past three years.

For me, what makes for a great non profit organization is that it truly serves others. This is ACEP's mission as the leading voice in energy psychology - a new field of psychotherapy that combines Eastern energy methods with Western psychotherapy principles. The methods are fast and efficient, almost defying what is currently known in the healing world especially for PTSD, anxiety and limiting beliefs. As expected, what a new field needs is research to support the clinical results we are seeing, humanitarian support to serve the millions suffering in the world, and certification to provide a standard of care. ACEP is the home for all of this, and provides it with a very minimal amount of overhead costs. I am a member since it's inception and also a past president, so I know first hand of the work.

EP techniques were the first psychotherapeutic techniques I ever learned almost 20 years ago. They have been extremely successful with clients. I have been with ACEP for years now, and ACEP has helped expand my use of EP to using it with staff as a clinical director. Therapist resiliency is a great challenge, and with the support of ACEP, I have been helping to change therapist and caregivers lives, in turn, maximizing client success. This organization's message to all is to be a "well" clinician, through our stellar certification programs, ethics outreach division, and by providing educational support. This organization is one of a kind and thrives on only excellence.

Energy psychology works. It's helped so many people reduce stress, anxiety and depression, among other things. Professionals using these leading edge techniques need a gathering place to share ideas and learn more. ACEP is that place. What a great service this organization provides. And I'm so grateful that ACEP is spreading the word about how effective energy psychology is - that helps us all.

I joined ACEP just four years ago and became a Board member this year. This organization represents my professional home as an energy psychology practitioner. ACEP has been and continues to be the major reason that energy psychology has gained professional recognition and is being taught to mental health professionals throughtout the world. Much remains to be done to bring these powerful methods of healing into maintstream healthcare and ACEP is the organization that can and will do this with your help.

We are fortunate to live at a time when this Association exists! All seekers of truth and emotional health like myself will find energy psychology not only a useful resource in times of stress but a key to understanding one's personality and the dynamics of our usual responses to stress which can readily be changed to more effective, adaptive functioning. Energy psychology is the leader in the growing field of energy medicine and leads in providing many applications suitable for clinical practices as well as for personal self-care. if this Association did not already exist--i would have to start one!

Learning about energy psychology has been the most extraordinary gift for me personally and, most importantly, for my clients. The partnership of using strategies that include working to balance the body's energy along with more traditional theories including cognitive-behavioral and acceptance/commitment skills has been quite remarkable, a 'no-brainer', if you will. ACEP has been a safe, ethical group of professionals who have provided the space and opportunity for trainings that are grounded and sensible. I really encourage others to check into ACEP and see if your experience is similar to mine. It was a life-changer for me. ACEP has been a warm and professional platform for me while exploring the growing new field of Energy Psychology. It is a professional and inclusive organization that serves to a broad spectrum of health care professionals and healers who dear to explore new healing modalities in a responsible and ethical way, in order to offer people more gentle, effictive and heartcentered solutions to their suffering. It just takes assisting to one Conference of this organization to be convinced that ACEP really is standing out in combining high profesionality with an extraordinary human touch, that can open peoples´ hearts to healing, which is just what the world needs now a days...

ACEP brings together a diverse group of energy healers from different parts of the world and from different modalities to learn from each other, grow, and also have a lot of fun! What makes ACEP so great is the high caliber of people it draws in and the awareness that when we network with like-minded people, we are all stronger. As a past Board Member and a Consultant in ACEP's certification program, I have grown tremendously from my interaction with this group.

I attended my first ACEP conference in 2012. This was the best conference I have ever attended and I have been to numerous conferences! The people I met were from all over the world and had been experts that I had studied while completing a doctorate. I came away with new learning and enthusiasm. The energy of the attendees exemplified what is being taught. The research provided is valuable to support the field and spread the power of Energy Psychology. I first joined ACEP in 1999 - excited about their mission to promote energy work in the field of psychology. They continue to promote and offer trainings in this very exciting field which offers true healing to those who work with professionals trained in these tools. It is bringing ancient wisdom to the field of psychology and adding to current methods and models of psychotherapy to create more possibilities for our clients to incorporate self healing tools into their daily life plus to work deeply with their practitioners to heal the roots of persistent problems. I so appreciate ACEP's inclusive nature - welcoming to its conferences many schools of thoughts so the conversations as to what works to improve quality of life for one person can include more than one vehicle of healing possibilities.
