Mission: Bcs envisions one brooklyn community, where all members of our community can access an excellent education, job opportunities, safe and affordable housing, and quality and affordable health care and wellness programs. (continued in schedule o. )
Programs: Childhood & family services provides early childhood education services, via center based child day care, home-based family child care network services and head start/early head start; also provides access to nutritious food and meals for bcs programs serving children and adults with disabilities, to support health and wellness. (continued in schedule o. )
after-school education provides literacy-rich after school programs (located in underperforming public schools). Over 1,000 children, along with their parents, benefited from these programs.
youth & community provides a transfer high school for serving over-age, under-credited young people, and a high school equivalency preparation program serving young people diagnosed with severe emotional disturbance. These programs serve over 550 teens and young adults. Provides and comprehensive community center programs located in four public housing developments and one public school. These programs serve all members of the communities surrounding the centers, well over 7000 people per year.
