Causes: Arts & Culture
Mission: Provide a center for Northern Nevada and the East side of the Sierra Nevada for the performing arts.
Programs: Theatrical and musical events are presented throughout the year providing opportunity for participation, enjoyment, and exposure to various artists and art forms. Theatrical productions: 4 productions provided a total of 25 performances. These events involved approximately 125 volunteers as performers, stage hands, and others providing over 500 hours of service. Combined attendance at these events was approximately 1,321. Children's theater: 33 productions provided a total of 225 performances. These events involved approximately 105 volunteers as performers, stage hands, and others providing over 719 hours of service. Combined attendance at these events was approximately 4,550. Musical concerts: 25 programs provided a total of 42 shows involved approximately 210 volunteers as performers, stage hands, and others providing over 840 hours of service. Combined attendance at these events was approximately 2,598.
a public access television station was operated during the year. The station provided 24 hour a day programming on 2 channels. Coverage included a variety of meetings of county, city, and school governments. Other programs provided educational, theatrical, commentary, and local information. Late night hours provide a bulletin board of meetings, activities, and events in the community. Funding was provided primarily through a grant from carson city.
the organization operates the artisan gift store where local artists may display their work and sell on consignment. Other art related gifts and supplies are offered in the store. The store was open 303 days during the year. Approximately 25 volunteers worked over 2,424 hours to staff the store. At least 25 artisans displayed their works in the store and over 1,197 works were sold.
the organization conducts many educational and training events throughout the year. Citizens of all ages are encouraged to become involved in and to appreciate art in various expressions through classes that teach history, techniques, and provide opportunity to develop and practice skills. Approximately 419 classes were held covering 54 topics. Over 2,220 participants attended these classes.
