Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Food, Food Banks & Pantries
Mission: BFR works to create a more just and less wasteful food system. We facilitate the sustainable redistribution of healthy food that would otherwise be wasted to low-income communities, by bicycle. We work with communities to facilitate their own food redistribution and create decentralized systems to bypass barriers to food access.
Results: At the start of the 2025 year BFR has rescued and redistributed a total of 5,680,817 lbs of food.

Direct beneficiaries per year: approximately 7,000 participants
Geographic areas served: Boulder County
Programs: Our food redistribution program takes food that would be wasted from grocery stores and other retail locations and redistributes it to communities that live with food insecurity.
