Mission: To provide education regarding korean and international adoption issues and korean culture to adoptees and the general public.
Programs: Participation, planning, and/or leading group discussions, panels, events, and activities that further our goal of educating the public and the adoption community about issues related to international korean adoption.
planned and executed 10 year anniversary conference, offering educational and cultural programming to almost 80 individuals from all over the united states and internationally. Conference included a keynote speaker, interactive educational programs, workshops, cultural activities with exposure to both korean and local culture and networking opportunities for attendees.
conducted bi-monthly discussion group focusing on korean, korean adoption, and adoption-related books, media and articles. 17 members currently attending; group is often able to connect with authors and filmmakers via online media to ask questions and explore topics.
provide 4 quarterly events, as well as many ad hoc events, to provide education and support to membership and affiliates. 100+ individuals attending events over the course of the year. Many events provided opportunities to learn more about korean culture and the korean adoptee community via presentations, educational programming, exposure to food/literature/film culture and facilitated discussions as well as to meet others who share similar interests.
