Nonprofit Overview
Mission: The mission of bosom buddies of arizona is to increase awareness of breast cancer by prevention, early detection, and providiing support to men and women diagnosed with breast cancer, and their families. We share common cancer experiences and knowledge through personal contacts, the hotline, support groups, social media, and educational materials.
Programs: Bosom buddies participates in various health fairs and community events in phoenix, az and the surrounding areas. We have five breast cancer support groups that meet once a month in various locations throughout metro phoenix. The meetings are free of charge and open to all. During the 2017 year, 593 people attended the support groups. We have a hotline for replying to questions and providing info about breast cancer during 2017, we were able to assist callers by responding to 119 calls. We publish a resource guide, navigating your breast cancer, which lists various resources available for breast cancer services 1,000 copies of the resource guide were distributed during the year.
