Boomerang Theatre Company is one of the best and most promising on-the-rise theater companies in all of New York. First of all, they are the only theater company in town that produces plays in repertory every year. I repeat: the only one. Many other companies have tried this and failed. Boomerang does it every season and succeeds. That, in itself, is a huge accomplishment.

Within their rep season, they produce world premieres of new plays, thereby giving living playwrights a valuable opportunity to have their work presented and seen; and bring classic and oft-neglected plays back to life for a second look. The result is twofold: theater artists get a unique opportunity to work within a repertory company without leaving New York City, and audiences get treated to a company at full power serving an art form in the best possible way.

Many theater artists I know - actors, writers, directors, designers, etc. - have benefited enormously from working with Boomerang, as have the theatergoers who've seen them in action. Boomerang is carrying on a timeless theater tradition by presenting both new works and the classics. It is tradition that deserves to endure, and Boomerang is one company that punctuates that need with style and urgency.

I have had multiple projects of mine developed through Boomerang's "First Flight" Series. A great opportunity to present new work by an incredibly supportive and energetic company.
As a general audience member, I have attended their "Shakespeare in the Park" performances for the past few summers and I make every attempt to see their Repertory shows in the fall. Outstanding work is their standard.
