Mission: To operate for the advancement of charity and education and for other charitable purposes, by the distribution of its funds for such purposes, and particularly to promote, enhance and further long-distance running throughout the united states, including but not limited to, the operation of road races and the operation of a long distance running hall of fame museum. The organization was formed in 1997.
Programs: The boilermaker road race sponsors a 15k run, a 5k run, a youth run, a 3 mile walk,a halloween kids run, a youth olympics, a health and fitness expo, urban initiatives for wellness and charitable fund raising.
museum: the national distance running hall of fame is open to the public to promote the athletes who have advanced the sport of u. S. Distance running.
