Mission: Production of an annual fesrtival for the purpose of preserving local music and culture and for the education of the community in the area of music and the arts.
Programs: 2017 was another very successful year for the bogalusa blues & heritage festival. During 2016, the organization hosted the 5th annual bogalusa blues & heritage festival in order to further the organizations mission of preserving the culture and musical heritage of bogalusa, louisiana. For 2016, the festival was held over 2 days and was attended by over 10,000 attendees comprised of blues fans from around the world. Attendees experience a taste of the local food, viewed the work of local and regional artists and experienced a top tier lineup of blues greats. In addition to our festival, the organization sponsored a parish wide art contest for local elementary and middle school students providing an opportunity to further the educational aspects of the organizations mission. For the 5th year, we added two additional inductees to our heritage trail as a means to preserve the musical history of bogalusa.
