Programs: Educational seminars: law in the service of life power point seminars and debates under the auspices of the bdf hannan institute project were developed through theresearch of the bdf legal team and presented in 2016 at 8 law schools, 2 medical schools, 3 universities, 0 state legislator briefing, 26 church and civic sponsored events, 1 litigation academy, 1 collegiate academy, and 18 international addresses (poland and ireland).
public interest litigation: bdf filed 2 amicus briefs in the u. S. Supreme court addressing the issues of conscience and 1 amicus brief addressing abortion safety regulations; bdf provided pro bono legal consultation in 3 federal appellate court cases addressing a state ban on disability discrimination aboration (7th cir); a state administrative action ending medicaid provider status to an abortion provider (5th cir); and a state law protecting women's health by requiring hospital admitting provileges (5th cir).
legislative drafting/consulting: educate policy makers on bioethics issues including state bans on fetal body parts trafficking, gestational surrogacy, abortion alternatives and informed consent, biotechnology; late term abortion risks, sex trafficking and coerced abortion; prenatal disability discrimination; healthcare rights of conscience, physician assisted suicide and advanced care directives. Public education was achieved through social media, email newsletter, and live speaking events.
