Causes: Big Brothers & Big Sisters, Children & Youth
Mission: Our mission is to help children reach their potential through professionally supported, one-to-one relationships with an adult volunteer mentor with the vision that every child who wants a mentor will have a mentor.
Programs: Bbbs believes that all young people deserve a positive support system to help them reach their full potential. Our mission is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. In 2017 we served 247 young people. Bigs commit to spending at least one hour a week with their little for at least 12 months. In 2017, our average match length was 23 months. Littles over the age of nine are surveyed annually, with over 70 percent reporting an increase in educational expectations - more likely to graduate high school and go to college-and a reduction in attitudes toward risky behavior such as smoking, drinking, or truancy
