Beyond Carnism is a US-based, non-profit international organization dedicated to exposing and transforming carnism, the invisible belief system that conditions people to eat certain animals.
Founded by Melanie Joy, Melanie is an American social psychologist and author who published the books "Strategic Action for Animals", "Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs, and Wear Cows" and "Beyond Beliefs". Most of the friends we know have attributed Melanie's work with Beyond Carnism as empowering their own efforts in the movement, including our own!
Beyond Carnism seeks to raise awareness of carnism in a variety of ways, including hosting public talks, media campaigns, video development, and activist training.
Our team has participated in several of these trainings and we cannot overstate the benefits we've gained from them. Their team is extremely friendly, genuine, and a gift to the movement. We absolutely love following the work they do for both non-vegan consumers and vegan advocates!
