Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Congregate Meals, Coronavirus Relief Food Banks, Food, Homeless & Housing, Homeless Shelters, Housing Search Assistance

Mission: The purpose of the organization is to address the needs of the homeless in our community and to serve as a catalyst for community collaboration to end homelessness.

Programs: Womens residential and counseling center program: transitional living facility that serves up to 138 people per day - single women and mothers with children. Within the facility, two populations are served: victims of crime in need of emergency, short-term support (up to 12 people daily) and individuals no longer in crisis but in need of long-term supportive services (up to 126 people daily). A 12-month transitional housing program offers case management support as well as access to education, job training, employment assistance, life skills development, and budgeting/savings assistance. Services help clients overcome adversity and reclaim self-sufficiency.

housing programs: two programs provide more independent living opportunities to individuals who have demonstrated the ability to be more self-sufficient but who still need supportive services. Programs offer temporary rental assistance as well as case management which focuses on attaining the personal and financial stability needed to become self-sufficient. An on-site, nine apartment transitional housing program assists recovering addicts in the mens first steps substance abuse recovery program. Community-based housing programs assist individuals and families who no longer benefit from shelter services.

emergency shelter programs: the emergency shelter program at the center for women and families serves up to 240 people per day - unaccompanied women, single mothers and fathers with children, and intact families. Clients benefit from services that foster self-sufficiency including case management, education, job training, employment assistance, life skills development, and budgeting/savings assistance. The mens emergency shelter (pavilion) provides meals, shelter and limited case managed services to up to 375 unaccompanied homeless men a night.
