Mission: Bethlehem house (bh) is a family-centered residential care setting that provides a place of home and empowerment for women, who are pregnant and in crisis, to choose life for themselves and their unborn child. Bh works in conjunction with multiple community partners to provide residential and aftercare pathways for attaining quality pre- and post-natal healthcare, essential parenting skills and economic security through education and employement.
Programs: A) family life program. Our residential campus houses women and children who are pregnant and parenting. The residential dorm consists of 12 fully furnished bedrooms. The family life program length is 10-12 months at no cost to families, and courses built upon personal strengths through education and mentorship. The family life core competencies include: financial literacy, pinwheels health and wellness, sexual integrity, baby and me, conquering codependency, domestic violence, god appetite, toddler talk, addiction & recovery, humble lily job workforce, cooking matters, and personal coaching. Staff are empathetic and trauma-sensitive, and include specialization in the fields of social work, nursing, grief, faith formation, addiction and recovery. B) aftercare program. Upon graduation, families enroll in aftercare. Aftercare was designed to reduce barriers that impede with self-sufficiency and healthy lifestyles. One key is maintaining healthy supports put in place during their stay at bethlehem house. Staff remain committed to visiting with families regularly. Family-centered goals cover assistance with legal advocacy, financial stability, scholarship assistance for school, and more. Families remain connected to services, at no cost to families, for an average of 2-4 years. C) humble lily workforce program. Started in 2015, the humble lily boutique is an upscale shopping center, sustained by local high-end donations, and assisted by hundreds of local volunteers each year. Proceeds from the humble lily help to provide financial support to the mission as we work to educate women to achieve economic self-sufficiency while restoring hope, reuniting families, and building community.
