BCureful is a great nonprofit that provides much needed support for families impacted by TSC. They cover travel expenses so families can see the specialists they need. We have directly seen the positive impact from this organization in our beautiful niece and the milestones she is reaching because she is able to see the doctors specializing in TSC.

Bcureful helps to bridge the financial gap for families living with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex. By partnering with NORD, we help with travel expenses associated with treatment, surgery and clinical trials. Our efforts dovetail beautifully with the efforts of the TS Alliance.
I appreciate the dedication and commitment that exists within Bcureful to meet needs within the TSC community. As a member of a family impacted by this catastrophic illness, the challenges can seem overwhelming. For many families the financial burden to provide for their children is near impossible. Bcureful provides much needed assistance to families needing surgeries and extensive travel. The research that Bcureful is helping to fund is critical to fighting and finding a cure for TSC. They are giving hope and making a difference in the lives of many families.

As the Director of Patient Services at National Organization for Rare Disorders, I have had the pleasure of collaborating with the caring, compassionate and insightful team at Bcureful for about a year. This organization has demonstrated an impressive level of commitment to the members it serves. Recognizing an unmet need in the TSC community this organization successfully raised and provided funds to enable travel & lodging support for TSC patients seeking care and treatment for their diagnosis.
Living with TSC is challenging. The efforts and work done by this organization help to lessen these challenges. I look forward to their continued strides in assisting the TSC community.
I have been directly involved with Bcureful and have seen the growth and impact this organization has had over the years. This organization directly helps families who are affected by TSC and has literally saved lives. TSC, being such a rare disease, often requires families to travel far from home for treatment. Many families understandably cannot afford the travel associated with required care, and Bcureful helps to bridge this gap.
My grandniece has Tuberous Sclerosis Complex. I never heard of this disease until this sweet little girl was diagnosed in February of 2015 at the age of two months. BCureful provides TSC families with assistance in traveling to surgeries in other cities. My niece had to travel to New York and Houston from St. Louis for operations to get relief from the benign tumors in her brain that caused life threatening seizures. Many families cannot afford this expense after dealing with the myriad of doctors need to take care of the child's other issues caused by tumors elsewhere in their bodies. BCureful assists with these type of costs related to life saving treatments. Because of the fact that TSC is a little known catastrophic disease this charity fulfills a specific need in the TSC comminity where experts cannot be found for hundreds of miles from their homes.
As the mother of a 4 year old with Tuberous Sclerosis, I am profoundly grateful for Bcureful and the organization's dedication to connecting TSC patients with medical care and research opportunities. My daughter has needed to travel from Missouri to New York, Cincinnati and Texas for life changing care and research participation. Without travel assistance it would have been very difficult if not impossible. BCureful's efforts are filling a need by helping families like mine get to locations they might not otherwise have been able to. BCureful's efforts are furthering research and therefore bringing my daughter and others like her closer to the realization of a cure. Without participants and the means to get to appointments, research would halt. I'm so grateful for BCureful's commitment to partnering with other dedicated TSC Advocates to assist families and providers in working towards a cure for Tuberous Sclerosis Complex! I Thank you! Some one I'm very close to is heavily involved with the program. I have seen it work volumes for those who can't travel for their chronic illness obtain the guidance they need!
The fundraising this org has done has helped my dear friend see doctors even when she was unable to travel to the actual site! I can only imagine what more good be done with better visibility!
What I love about Bcureful is its passion for the TSC community. I have known the great people at Bcureful for several years now. It is wonderful what Bcureful is able to do to help patients get access to care and to participate in clinical trials that are aimed at improving the lives of patients affected by TSC.
Within a few years after joining the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance in 2005, I wanted to organize a national educational meeting for the nurse coordinators at the TSC Clinics we recognized around the country. Bcureful was instrumental in helping me accomplish this by providing funding to allow me to bring four experienced TSC nurse coordinators to Washington DC in June 2017 to plan the first-ever national meeting for TSC Clinic nurses entitled, "Empowering Nurse Care Coordination through the Global Community", held in conjunction with the 2018 World TSC Conference in Dallas Texas on July 26. I have been very impressed with BCureful in its mission to seek out unmet needs in the tuberous sclerosis community and try to meet them with incredible dedication. Bcureful is like a tugboat. It is there when and where it can be of help, it is agile and modest, it does not draw attention to itself but rather to the massive ocean liner sized cause it works to advance: research towards a cure for Tuberous Sclerosis Complex while raising public awareness of the disorder and helping to bring expert medical care and support to people where they need it. The captain of this tugboat is the intrepid Julie Scroggins, founder & chairman. Each of us who have the honor of contributing our time, talent and treasure to the causes of Bcureful with her are grateful for her relentlessly positive and passionate leadership and capacity to care for everyone around her.
BCureful is a superb professional organization that is dedicated to providing the best care for children and adults with TSC and their families. My journey with Bcureful started as a mom with a newly diagnosed child in an area where there is not TS related healthcare. Bcureful promotes awareness of Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) and advancing research for a cure. We raise money and provide it where it can help people who live with TSC.
