I have been a part of my local babywearing group since my oldest daughter was an infant. More than simply learning about what babywearing is and how to do it, I have found a group of like minded moms across the region. It is the only moms group I have belonged in, and I have made lifetime friendships and had the opportunity to meet new moms and help them the way I have been helped.
I first joined this group about 3 years ago, when my son was about 4 months old. I've only heard about baby wearing and how important it is for babies to be close to mom, but I had no idea how to do it and what to use. This group has taught me how to buy, how to choose slings, pouches, carriers. They taught me how to wear the baby correctly, gave me various slings to try, introduced me to members who could help me further, and just welcomed me with open arms. I think the fact that my son is so connected with himself and tuned in with the world around him is greatly influenced by the fact that he stayed close to me for his first year of his life. And it was only possible because of BWI! Thanks!!
I found this babywearing group when my first was 2 months old and now she is almost 4 years old and my second is 6 months old. This group has taught me so much about wearing my babies correctly and safely and it is an invaluable resource to our community. Everyone is so encouraging, friendly and helpful. We hope to continue to be a part of the group for a long time!
I found this group when my son was a baby, through this group I learned how to use my baby carriers to their full potential and I met a lot of great mothers and babies. I'm so grateful that this group is there, the support I received was unforgettable, I'll forever be thankful for the wonderful ladies!
