Mission: The barre center for buddhist studies is dedicated to bringing together teachers, students, scholars and practitioners who are committed to exploring buddhist thought and practice as a living tradition, faithful to its origins and lineage, yet adaptable and alive in the current world. The center's purpose is to provide a bridge between study and practice, between scholarly understanding and meditative insight. It encourages engagement with the tradition in a spirit of genuine inquiry and investigation.
Programs: In 2017, the barre center for buddhist studies (bcbs) hosted 45 courses and private rental groups, ranging from one day to two weeks. 748 unique individuals attended these on-site courses, with some people attending more than one course during the year. Additionally, bcbs conducted multiple online programs to reach people who are not able to travel to the center.
