I go back several years with Kathy Deets, and she is truly one of the finest people I know. Her dedication, compassion, and work ethic are unrivaled. The level of commitment she has for her rescue is beyond inspiring, and quite frankly, she is one of the reasons I am now active in dog rescue. She also led us to a foster that we ultimately adopted. Our Cindy is as sweet as she is gorgeous; Kathy rescued her as a malnourished stray, and it’s a miracle she survived…..but boy did she!
Hi, my name is Sheila, about two years ago my husband and I bought a German Shepherd, her name is Abbie. My husband past away suddenly last year and I have MS for the past nineteen years. It became very difficult for me to train and take care of her by myself. A person from my church told me about Bark From the Heart so I reached out and talked to Kathy, she was very eager to help after I told her my story. I am so grateful to her and the staff for all they do. My biggest concern was that Abbie would be taken care of and loved the way she should be. THANK YOU
We adopted our little guy from Bark from the Heart, where we met Kathy. She authentically cares for each dog that is under her watch like her very own. She vets every person/family prior to having them meet the dog, to ensure they are a right fit. Once the meeting happens, she shares her knowledge about types of foods, training, experience, concerns and history.
In our case, she had rescued Duke a whole week before we met him and she noticed he had a very subtle limp. We didn't think much of it because he still used his foot. Before we committed to adopting, she suggested to get an x-ray. Well, it turned out he had a degenerative hip joint, and needed surgery.
Long story short, we are grateful to Kathy who supported us along the way. We were able to get Duke his surgery through fundraiser. And he is currently recovering.
One more thing to point out that I particularly liked, was that she gives you a trial period with the pup. She will not rush you to adopt, instead, she really wants to make sure that you are sure of this big decision.
We adopted two wonderful dogs from Bark From The Heart Solutions. They came from a breeding situation and rescued by Kathy’s nonprofit. Fortunately we were the lucky ones to be able to foster and then adopt these sweet pups. Kathy was very easy to work with, responsive and receptive to any of our questions or needs as we went through the process. She has a deep passion for helping dogs and we are lucky to have her rescue in our community!
We adopted our adorable dog from Bark From the Heart Rescue. He was well cared for, up to date at the vet, and carefully groomed. .
Kathy is truly committed to the rescue of dogs in need. She makes sure they are walked, have play time, correct diet needs, etc. We fostered a dog through Bark from The Heart Rescue when Kathy had a full house of dogs and did not have room for another. She delivered all the supplies, food, leashes, toys, crate, etc. and was very responsive when we needed anything and had any question. She works hard to match them with the dogs next furever home.
