My niece was diagnosed in 2019 with MS. A very sweet loving mother wife daughter cousin niece and friend. She has a son 12 who has autism which is a full time job in itself and a son 7. She worked full time at an Animal Control Shelter. She had compassion for animals.
Getting this disease has turned her life upside down. From good days to bad days. She had to quit her job. Having to rely on help from other people. She has always taken care of her disabled son and her younger son and now some days are harder than others.
From back pain to numbness in her legs arms and legs. And vision loss in one eye due to lesions on optical nerve. Yet she still tries to make her boys and husbands life as normal as possible. She always checks on me no matter how she feels. I have chronic back pain degernative disc disease multiple surgeries. I also have good and bad days. I always smile when I see her name on my phone.
She’s having a really hard time accepting the disease because she knows she has to be there for her family. Especially her son with autism. Now her family is a one income family waiting on her disability to be approved. Which is stressful to her. But she smiles and thinks of other people. She’s my unsung hero. I love her so much. I hope this story inspires someone or she can benefit from her story being told
