Mission: While scientists have been aware that the Philippines has one of the most diverse marine ecosystems in the world, few understand the significance of that in our daily lives. Through our weekly newspaper BALIKAS we bring real-life stories of people living from and protecting our reefs and other ecosystems within their own communities and via our website, to the entire world.
Programs: - Taal Lake Management Planning with Basin Community - Mt Malarayat wild indegenous tree replanting and watershed protection - BALIKAS newspaper used by schools, communities, local governments, church, health workers etc., for environmental education - Balayan Bay community conservation coverage - Outreach to Filipinos and Americans Abroad on conservation work in the Philippines and the California Academy of Sciences New Aquarium featuring a Philippine Reef System
