BOK Ranch is led with a culture of service beyond self. The ranch environment and guided interactions with the animals foster unique learning opportunities that otherwise wouldn't be possible. The leadership is dedicated to maintaining a culture of inclusion where all participants are able to learn and thrive. The director and leadership team have created a life changing transition program for teens and young adults who need the extra help. The staff are patient and accepting of neurodiversity. I couldn't find any other options for my own son who participated for many years so I'm truly grateful this program is available.
BOK Ranch is not just a place for lessons, but it's an opportunity to join a wonderful community. The staff is top notch! They are experts at what they do yet do not have huge egos. We loved our time at BOK Ranch, and can't wait until we can visit again.
I am an owner of a horse stabled at BOK Ranch. This has made it possible for me (owner of Dusty) to see what EXCELLENT work the horses and volunteers provide for the students needing physical therapy.
BOK Ranch is an outstanding place for both horses and users of the services provided (there are many!). Our horses are well taken care of on a daily basis bringing relief to our family to know Dusty will be very well taken care of.
We are assured that if a medical issue comes up with our horse, the staff at BOK responds quickly and can make a professional decision for our horses. This is very reassuring as I travel often and can do so knowing Dusty is well taken care of.
The work that BOK Ranch does is absolutely outstanding. I have spent time observing what the volunteers and horses do for our disabled who might not speak, walk or have other sensory issues and have been astonished at the positive results.
BOK Ranch is a fantastically run operation that does wonders for those who are using these services.
My family loved going to Western Day each year. Seeing the riders interact with the horses was so special. Such a great day!
What a wonderful organization! Both my son and daughter are truly blessed to have spent time at BOK for summer camp, riding lessons, and work program. Tish is funny, warm and inviting - and is a solution provider for her riders and parents, if needed. The instructors are patient and were always accommodating to my son with Autism during lessons. My daughter did a work program there for a couple of months and enjoyed working with Tish and Taylor learning about the ranch and of courses the horses and their needs and individual personalities. BOK provides an opportunity for growth and development in many areas for children and adults. We
Our daughter has had an amazing experience at BOK Ranch for the last 15 years. She began as a rider and is now working 'behind the scenes' at BOK, learning invaluable life and job skills as a ranch helper. The staff at BOK Ranch is unbelievably professional, all while maintaining a warm, safe and enriching atmosphere for the clients. The impact that they have had on our daughter's life is immeasurable and if we could give "20 stars" we would do so without hesitation!!!
Fantastic program with a wide reach in the community. I have had the pleasure of teaching young BOK camp attendees about equine dental work and hosting Veterinary Technician students who gain invaluable horse handling and radiographic skills techniques.
I love being around horses and these horses are loved so they are sharing that love with the riders. Equine therapy works. What a joy to see children healing.
BOK Ranch is the perfect place for people of all abilities to gain self confidence and riding skills.
The students are engaged. The instructors knowledgable and attentive. The horses seem happy, well-fed, and healthy. The facility is well-maintained and clean. I love the buzz of excitement as the student arrive asking about their favorite horses.
My involvement with BOK Ranch began over 7 years ago when my oldest son (now 13 yrs old) starting therapeutic horseback riding at BOK Ranch. Although my son, Ben, is ambulatory, he struggles to walk. From many years of hard work, Ben now rides with a level of independence that few people expected. Therapeutic horseback riding has strengthened his legs, and the gift of learning to ride has given him so much joy. On horseback, he moves around the arena with the same ease and at the same speed as everyone else riding in the arena with him. Like so many of BOK Ranch’s riders, riding has benefited his body and his spirit.
BOK is a special place. The people who are helped here and those who help, volunteers and staff, all feel the joy that comes from the partnership with the horses. It’s a place that not only provides recreational therapy, it also fosters inclusion and creates lots of unique experiences for everyone.
B O K Ranch helps my son, Emanuel, tremendously! Emanuel is, 13 years old, diagnosed with autism, developmentally delayed, and sensory issues. He truly enjoys riding on the horses especially Chase (his favorite horse) every Saturday. He has been riding for more than 5 years now. He connects with these horses, and they help him focus. I also applaud the B O K Ranch staff, teachers and volunteers. They are amazing and very passionate about what they do!
