Mission: Wildlife rescue inc. , rehabilitates and
Programs: Wildlife rescue operates a triage center for thousands of orphaned, injured, and wounded wildflife brought in by the general public of the austin metropolitan area each year. Wild animals and birds are evaluated for courses of treatment, stabilized, and often turned over to licensed individuals who continue treatment in their homes. Wildlife rescue provides advice, medication, and food for the animals and birds until they are released into the wild. Wildlife rescue rehabilitates apporximately 50% of the animals brought into the center.
wildlife rescue publishes a quarterly newsletter providing information to the public about co-existing with wildlife. Further, staff and volunteers maintain a 24-hour hotline taking an estimate 15,000 calls from the general public each year regarding wild animals and birds.
