Rating: 5

I served on the Board for 6 years. As one of the founders, I have seen this organization grow . While the focus is on aiding battered women in the Asian American community, the goal is also to prevent the violence form taking place. AADA has many trained volunteers who speak many Asian languages. The trained advocates provide peer counseling and helps the women to become independent so she can live a productive life free of abuse. AADA provides interpretation services, cultural sensitivity training and legal advocacy. Out reach programs are conducted in schools and within the Asian American community to promote awareness of domestic abuse. AADA also collaborates with several ethnic organizations . AADA's brochures are available in 11 different Asian languages.
