Mission: Founded in 2000, Asian American Center of Santa Clara County was formed to improve the quality of life, dignity, independent living and self-sufficiency of the seniors, youths, families and community. These are grass-roots community social services that are critical to the well-being of our society.
Programs: 1. Senior program services: As the number of elders continues to significantly increase for Santa Clara County population, the demands for support services for seniors will continue to rise. These services include: guidance counseling, referrals, low-income housing, interpretation and translation, health care (mental health and physiological), social, mental and economic support system. 2. Youth Program services. Within only a few years, adolescents will become adults and leaders in their communities. The future of our community well-being depends on these young people. Support services to ensure they stay on the right-track in terms of education, social and leadership development are critical. These services include: guidance counseling, after-school tutoring programs, gang and violence prevention and intervention services (at schools, in juvenile detention centers and in the community...), leadership training programs support services network, health care education programs, referral services, job training and job search services. 3. Family Services: The family unit is a major social foundation of a community. Seniors, youths and the community often are the byproducts of the family well-being. Services to enhance the quality of life in the family include: domestic violence prevention and intervention counseling, guidance counseling, affordable housing, employment services, informational and referral services, child abuse prevention and intervention services and child care programs. 4. Advocacy services: As Asian American Center of Santa Clara County provide social and health support services to low-income multi-ethnic residents of Santa Clara County, it will also advocate for services and needs of its clients and community as necessary to ensure their needs are being heard and met.
