Causes: Art Museums, Arts & Culture, Arts Education
Mission: To promote the growth and appreciation of contemporary art and artists in Texas. Through exhibitions and programs in Austin and statewide, Arthouse helps nurture artists'' careers and deepen public understanding of contemporary art.
Programs: 6-7 organized contemporary exhibitions a year that are presented at the Jones Center in Austin (Arthouse's statewide headquarters) and tour throughout Texas. These exhibitions are accompanied by lectures/ discussion and various community education and outreach programs designed to extend the scope of the exhibit and further discussion. Also exhibition catalogs are published to accompany exhibitions.Education and Outreach programs focussing on Teens and High School Students and their interest in and connections to contemporary art..
