Causes: Arts & Culture, Visual Arts
Mission: To bring visual and performing arts to the south central texas community through education and art appreciation.
Programs: Art after school: after school programs were held in 4 different schools teaching art to students. Approximately 325 children attended art after school programs supported by arts for rural texas. These programs were either offered at significant discounts to actual cost, or free.
summer art camp & summer art workshops: summer art camp and summer art workshops were offered in 2014 for 210 children. These camps were offered at significant discount to actual costs, or for free to those qualifying.
fine art assemblies in area schools: programs were brought to the children in fayette county schools in cooperation with local school districts. These programs ranged from the houston grand opera's "the pastry prince" to martha hannah's "medieval comedienne and stand-up historian" to darden smith's "be an artist" to mccallum classical guitar ensemble to bluzskool harmonica clinic. Approximately 6,500 children were served by these programs. These programs are offered free to children.
