Programs: In 2017 arm-of-the-sea theater created two new productions for its touring repertoire. The company presented 41 public performances at venues throughout eastern nys and adjacent states. Most of these performances were offered free to the public, with an estimated 8,000 people in attendance. The organization's arts-in-education program conducted six weeks of residencies in new york state schools, involving hundreds of students in poughkeepsie, red hook, pine plains, and new rochelle. Arm-of-the-sea's waterfront revitalization project on the tidal esopus creek in saugerties, ny, continued to move forward, developing a master plan that will transform the ruins of a 19th century paper mill into a center for arts, science, and regional heritage.
