Mission: Acrp is a non-profit legal services organization that assists indigent persons facing the death penalty and sentenced to death in arizona through direct representation, pro-bono consulting services and training for capital defense professionals, and public outreach and education.
Programs: In fy16-17, the arizona capital representation project (acrp) directly represented 13 individuals facing the dealth penalty and sentenced to death and represented several juveniles serving life without the opportunity of parole. Acrp provided pro bono consulting assistance on over 101 additional capital cases at all stages of litigation (from pretrial through clemency). Acrp hosted a one day, storytelling bring-your-own-case training and project staff served as faculty in several other trainings. Acrp hosted or participated in several moot oral arguments and provided sample materials to dozens of capital defense teams at all stages of litigation. Through its casetracking efforts, acrp continued to monitor pending capital cases in arizona and collect and preserve relevant statistical data.
