Receiving an autism diagnosis for your child is an extremely emotional experience. The evaluation process to get to a diagnosis is overwhelming, and then you’re left with the question “what do we do now”?

Arizona Autism United is unlike any other autism organization because they truly embody their mission on every level. They hold themselves to the highest level of service to our community and strive to be the solution for all autism needs.

My family is fortunate and grateful to have been with AZA United from the beginning of my child’s autism journey. Family support felt like a best friend holding my hand and walking me through each step in a large process. From evaluation, to diagnosis, to navigating systems of care, to beginning services, AZA United exceeded my family’s expectations. Now, my child is growing and thriving, and I can see a bright future ahead. We have Arizona Autism United to thank for that.

One area of AZA that can’t be overlooked, is their one stop shop approach. One organization providing all of your needs, and the ability to build trust in who is caring for your child is amazing! Also, being able to build one schedule for your child that encompasses all of their services in one place is beyond beneficial. My child thrives in routine, and struggles with transitioning from one therapy to another at times, so I can not express enough how instrumental being in one location for everything was in setting my child up for success.

Arizona Autism United is an amazing organization, and I wouldn’t trust my child with anyone else!

They are, from the executive leadership to paraprofessionals, collectively the most dedicated team I have ever had the pleasure to serve. They all strive daily to fulfill AZA’s mission to help as many families as possible and be a model for autism organizations

Arizona Autism United is #1 when it comes to services! The technicians and staff are the best in the state and I couldn’t be more amazed with how hard they strive to make AZA families and kids feel at home. My son has been receiving services at the West Valley location and the tremendous progress he has made in just months of receiving services, is absolutely life changing! Thank you AZA for guiding my son and providing a place where he is loved and cared for!

My son had been receiving services from AZA United since he was 4 years old (he is turning 14 this December). When he was diagnosed, I was scared and unsure on what the future will be. Throwing a ball, getting on the swing, ridding a bike, being potty trained, using scissor, writing his name, drinking from an open cup were incredible hard tasks for him, even scary ones.
We had the blessing to be approved for Hab-Master and a whole team from AZA began playing (nice way to tell a child that had to work several hours on developmental stuff) with my son. They prioritize not just the development skills, but on the happiness of him, and baby step by baby step he reached his full potential, thanks to the love, care and friendship from the providers he has; they saw my son beyond of a child with a disability, for AZA my son was a human being, not just with the right of belonging to this world, but with the capacity to do great things and being happy at the same time.
There would never be enough words to thanks every single person at AZA, for the professionalism, the knowledge and all the love that had been spread to my family, specially, for my "prieto de fuego".
Their labor never ends, since we, as family, became part of the team, learning techniques that help Mateo to hang in there, to be happy on this place that we call world.
THANKS AZA!!!

I have proudly served on the board of directors of this wonderful organization for the past five years. I am continually impressed by the passion, enthusiasm, and commitment to patients that the team demonstrates year after year. I am proud of leadership's continued innovation to meet not only the needs of patients, but also the needs of families and caregivers. AZA United has done a tremendous job of both expanding its breadth of services (to include counseling, speech and language therapy, etc.), as well as AZA's geographic reach to provide as many families as possible with services and supports. Thank you to the AZA United team for all of the wonderful work you do!

I am so lucky to have found a program to support the needs of my family. I have a teen who has received services through several organizations over the years. The amount of support he's received from AZA United has brought so much comfort for me as a parent. As my son became a teenager, we noticed a shift in behaviors and a drastic increase in aggressiveness towards his family members. Once the Clinical Family Coaching team stepped in, they were quickly able to identify the concerning behaviors, as well as what motivates him. It wasn't long before we could tell we were getting our son back. The team worked a lot with me and coached ME on how to address the behaviors and I can still hear the coach's voice in my head when I'm asking my son to complete a task. Thanks, J! After successfully completing CFC, we were able to start an ABA program to continue to address life skill acquisition. Though we just started, the team has listened to my concerns and is following through with everything. I couldn't be happier to have found this level of support for my son.

I was introduced to AZA via an invite to a luncheon many years ago. Not only did it open my eyes and educate me about autism, but it revealed the important life changing work that AZA was doing and continues to do and the compassionate way they do it. Though the diagnosed counts of autism rise and you likely know a family dealing with this, AZA continues to rise to the challenge by increasing services and facilities throughout the Phoenix metro area (both for in home and clinic support), yet maintaining the heart and culture of who they are and doing so as a non-profit. It's because of this ongoing need, their approach and hearing the stories of those helped, that I'm honored to support AZA and encourage others to be a part of the hope that AZA brings to families in our community.

I've been serving on the board of Arizona Autism United for the past couple of years. They really focus on understanding and helping meet the individual needs of each child and family, which is evident across all areas of AZA United. Since joining the board, I've referred three families who needed assistance and the response has always been supportive, empathetic and quick.

I'm very proud to be associated with AZ Autism United.

As a school principal, I have worked with a multitude of families with children diagnosed with autism. Often, they feel lost and overwhelmed and truly don't know where to go for support. The information, including who to contact, I have provided them regarding Arizona Autism United has helped them navigate the process and get questions answered. Families have shared that when their children were first diagnosed with autism, they felt alone and isolated. At Arizona Autism United, they feel heard and supported, which is what we want for all families. Each year, I attend the luncheon and make a donation to Arizona Autism United because the work they do does so much to bring understanding and hope to many families. Hearing the personal stories from parents is not only inspiring, but also brings awareness of all that is possible. Although I am a parent who does not have a child diagnosed with autism, I embrace what I have learned about this organization and use it to encourage others to get involved and donate, and to empower families with children on the spectrum. I can't say enough about the opportunities and supports this organization provides to families. Arizona Autism United changes lives.

My son Alex is a wonderful young man with autism. He has problems with anxiety based around events that happened to him that he was never able to fully process and reconcile, leading to perseverating and escalated behaviors at times. AZA’s Clinical Family Coaching program is helping him to control his anxiety through mindfulness activities and training us as parents how to better support him in deescalating when his anxiety gets too high. I cannot recommend their services more highly, they have been an invaluable resource for our family!

Arizona Autism United (AZA) has been amazing with my son since diagnosis when he was almost 3 years old and still at 13 years old! We have received Speech Therapy, ABA services and Clinical family Coaching program for behaviors that later occurred. My son can now express his wants and needs and we were able to learn how to help when difficult situations would happen. My son loves to play soccer, swim, and go on many outings without any difficulty. We are so grateful for everything we have learned and all the tremendous support they continue to give us. Have no idea what we would of done without the amazing staff at AZA!

I've had the pleasure of working with Arizona Autism United in the multiple clients I help with different marketing initiatives in the autism field. AZA has continued to go above and beyond for families and the types of programs available to families in need in many different aspects. I've been able to be connected with them for almost a decade and when I think they've hit a high they continue to go even higher with their service areas and services and programs. I know many families who have been positively impacted and talk highly about what AZA is about and never losing sight of their mission.

I made a donation online after reviewing the AZA United website. I received a call the same day from Paulina, AZA United’s Development Director, thanking me for my donation. Paulina was very professional and was eager to answer my questions about AZA United’s services. We talked about my son who has autism and she gave me great advice about summer care for him. I was even invited to do a site tour, which I did, and the facility was wonderful. I met the CEO, Dr. Blocher-Rubin and enjoyed listening to his vision for the future. This is a fantastic organization who genuinely cares about those they serve and the donors who make that possible.

A big part of this has been due to AZA's excellent team of both staff and management, who have developed and implemented great programs to address autism's many different facets in individualized formats for each kid. Not only does this organization put the child at the center of every program and intervention, but they take the entire family into account as well. Incorporating the needs of the whole family is one of the reasons I would highly recommend this organization to anyone struggling with autism.

I am currently entering into my second year as a board member. I feel honored to represent AZA in my community, helping people understand the need for and value of an organization like this. This organization changes lives and I know that my family wouldn't be where we are without it.

We took the Family Fundamentals course when we were waiting for services from DDD/ALTCS to begin. We participated in many trainings that were offered. My son graduated from AZA's Early Childhood Autism (ECA) program and is now doing habilitation and respite with AZA. The staff has been wonderful the entire time. The people who have been a part of our dream team have all been respectful, professional and they really care about my son and his progress. Because of AZA United, I can truly say that our family has more good days than bad. They have not only taught my son so much but they have taught our entire family how to best support my son. I feel confident in my ability to come up with solutions and goals thanks to the training and support we have received. My son loves to plays sports, especially hockey. We have used the services from AZA United for several years. I have found the organization to be very proactive in finding and training personnel to work with their special needs clients. Unlike most other organizations in the Valley, they offer free training to employees and parents, have a lot of resources available to parents and include parents in most of the decision making processes.

I have referred many new families to AZA United over the years. I have found their level of knowledge in working with kids with ASD to be exceptional in many ways. My experience has been very positive from working with their BCBA's and day to day staff. I appreciate the training opportunities and the new programs that they have initiated over the years. They have shown that they truly understand the needs of the clients and the families they serve and have been flexible enough to grow and change in the greatest areas of need.

Our second child was diagnosed with ASD over 2.5 years ago. Unfortunately, we didn't have early intervention services. My husband and I were anxious to get services started and to begin educating ourselves so that we could help our son. It was only a month or two after receiving the diagnosis that I had attended a conference with Arizona Autism United. I had taken a LOA from my part-time teaching position and the scholarship awarded to me made it possible to attend. I listened to so many wonderful speakers and had great discussions with both parents and other professionals. The vendor booths were also extremely informational. One in particular helped give us that gentle nudge to get out more in the community as a family. Had I not gone to the conference, I wouldn't have met the people who are in our lives now. It really is about connections.

I have attended the last three conferences hosted by AZA United. ALL of them have been well worth it and I strongly encourage more families, professionals in the field, teachers, and DDD staff to attend. The guest speakers each year are phenomenal and one leaves the conference feeling very empowered. I was also able to participate in a program last year called Family Fundamentals. The program helps families of kiddos on the spectrum that might be new to this journey or those navigating their "new normal." I learned about additional information regarding the IEP process and more strategies for managing (potential) behaviors at home or in community settings. The weekend seminars offered to families have also provided helpful information as well and allows parents to connect with each other to share their struggles, successes, and wisdom. We feel very fortunate to have found such an amazing group of people dedicated to helping to improve the lives of those with ASD and their families.

I have recently been involved with AZA after hearing rave reviews about them. I am in the process of receiving services. I absolutely LOVE this organization!!! They are incredible!!! Their staff, leadership and philosophies are outstanding! I only wish that I had found them sooner. I am so excited to now be working with them, I can't say enough about them!
Thank You

AZA has helped our family in so many ways. I have 3 children, all with special needs. AZA goes above and beyond to help with all their needs. They have provided a scholarship for a program that my daughter would benefit from, but that we were financially unable to particiapate in. They have helped our family accept the disabilities, and learn to live with them. AZA has many resources and connections in the community. If they do not have the means to help a family, they do their best to direct you to who can help. Most importantly, AZA helps to bring families together, so that you do not feel alone. We have made life-long friends with both the providers and clients at the agency.

My son has been receiving services from AZA United since shortly after his autism diagnosis at 19 months of age. Over these last 5 years we have seen amazing progress in our son and we attribute so much of his success to the dedication and HEART of AZA United's staff. My husband and I recently spoke at AZA United's annual charity luncheon. The end of my speech perfectly sums up how we feel: "To our Amazing AZA United Team members, we have welcomed you into our home and you have touched our lives, filled our hearts, and changed the course of Jack’s future in so many ways. Jack, Greg and I simply could not have done this without you. What you do is more than therapy…it changes lives."

AZA United is an exemplary resource center. Both of our children have received services through AZA United and my husband and I could not be more pleased with the experience and the results. Everyone there is well educated in their field, kind and compassionate. They are driven to help families succeed and overcome obstacles faced by autism. I can think of no other place I'd rather receive continued education and services regarding autism.

We have two boys, ages 5 and 7; both are diagnosed with autism. AZA United has supported our family for over six years. When our boys were first diagnosed, they had no language at all and their behavior made it difficult to leave our house. They would run away, and have horrible temper tantrums for no reason we could see. They would hurt themselves and others. AZA United helped us change all of that. They taught us as parents how to help pull language from the boys, and how to manage their behavior. They worked with the boys on different programs to help with their speech and their social skills. Now, we can go to the park, to the movies and out to restaurants to eat. We went from being home-bound and afraid to take our kids out in public, to being able to enjoy different activities as a family. AZA United has hugely improved the quality of life for our boys, and for our family.
