Mission: The mission of the Appalachian Education Initiative is to promote students' personal development, academic performance, and 21st century workforce preparation by ensuring the availability of quality arts education in West Virginia public schools.
Programs: Arts for all - a comprehensive program focusing on the appalachian education initiative's three primary areas of focus: advocacy, research and information dissemination, and professional development. The program supports policies, practices, other programs and partnerships that ensure the arts are an essential part of grades k through twelve education in the state of west virginia.
teaching artist project - to provide professional development workshops and services to artists interested in doing programs and residencies in k-12 educational settings.
vsa program - to provide services and workshops about issues involving the arts and disabilities in pre k-12 educational settings to artists and educators.
