Mission: Anew living offers a unique approach to meeting the needs of our community by converting older, distressed motels into affordable housing alternatives. The rooms and small apartments available at anew are offered as a step up from the transitional housing facilities.
Programs: During 2016 anew living provided 20 short-term transitional housing units to a total of 85 persons which included 2 veterans, 11 families, 6 single parents with a total of eight children, 9 two-parent families with a total of twelve children, and 3 seniors on disability. As part of our program anew living provides free on-site classes and meeting geared towards self-sufficiency, basic budgeting & savings planning. All classes and meetings focus on ending the cycle of homlessness. Within 2016, a total of 5 singles and 4 families successfully obtained permanent housing. The first part of 2016, anew also provided emergency shelter for families in crisis. Families could stay up to seven days while they worked with local agencies to find a permanent solution. Anew provided emergency shelter to 4 families during the year.
