Programs: To provide advocacy dedicated to promoting lifesaving stem cell research and therapy development. Staff made available technically correct scientific and policy-related information and materials to numerous incumbent elected officials, upon request. Materials included information about key stem cell and therapy developments, as well as the potential implications of "personhood" legislation for invitro fertilization (ivf), stem cell research, and other areas. Staff provided strategic counsel to other states (e. G. Montana) pursuing ballot initiatives to fund biomedical research. Staff trained patient advocates for public-facing and media messaging on stem cell research, clinical trials and key policy issues, including an accelerated fda review and approval process for clinical trials.
