Mission: The mission of asorn is to foster excellence in ophthalmic patient care while supporting the ophthalmic team through individual development, education, and evidence based practice.
Programs: Annual meeting - asorn conducts an annual meeting, which is a two-day event with programs that offer a diverse range of cutting edge education targeted for beginner, intermediate, and advanced level ophthalmic registered nurses and ophthalmic technicians. The meeting attracts over 200 attendees.
regional meetings - events that are held across the united states, providing courses with targeted ophthalmic specialties and topics.
editorial services - the editorial committee oversees the publication of the insight journal, which is a peer-reviewed, clinical, and scientific journal written by ophthalmic nurses and other ophthalmic medical personnel who are experts in their field of ophthalmology. Insight is published quarterly in january, april, july, and october and has over 200 subscribers.
other program services include membership dues administration and professional exam administration.
