Mission: The mission of the American Institute on Domestic Violence is to assist the business community and battered women in the workplace to recognize domestic violence as a workplace issue by: 1. Creating a safe and supportive environment for all battered women. 2. Developing safety, communication and assistance for battered women in their workplace. 3. Offering a Self Esteem Program for Battered Women called "Movin' On." 4. Assisting employers to be in compliance with numerous statutes and regulations that require employers to provide a safe work place. 5. Minimizing the employers exposure to legal liability should violence erupt in the work place. 6. Reducing the financial loss associated with the corporate cost of domestic violence for the employer.
