The two prominent studies conducted in 2014 produced (1) the fueling and future study which serves as a resource for local gas distribution companies, customers, regulators, legislators and other policy makers, industry, and the general public to use in understanding the natural gas market. It describes the unconventional natural gas revolution and the potential effect of the abundance of u. S. Natural gas supply on energy efficiency, environmental benefits, economic growth, and energy security, and (2) supported work at georgetown university to develop a national competition for communities centered on promoting energy efficiency. This effort will challenge communities to reduce their utility-supplied energy consumption per capita in a manner that yields continuing improvements in their own communities and is replicable in other communities.
