Mission: Advancing the science of anesthesia through education and research. As the philanthropic arm of the aana, the foundation raises funds and invests in projects that directly support the the nurse anesthesia profession.
Programs: The aana foundation funds individual grants, fellowships and scholarships for student nurse anesthetists, crna graduate students and post-doctoral crnas. During the reporting period, the aana foundation awarded 54 scholarships to students and 2 fellowships to crnas.
the aana foundation funds research related initiatives including health policy research projects, closed claim studies, poster presentations at meetings and research skill development workshops. The aana foundation also funds recognition awards for outstanding research, philanthropy, advocacy, and humanitarianism as well as uses funding to support wellness lectures. During the reporting period, the foundation funded three health policy research projects, one ongoing outcome study, 142 poster presenters, one workshop, four recognition awards, and one wellness lecture.
