Programs: Alzheimer's Los Angeles is the leading organization in Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino counties providing programs and services addressing the needs of people living with Alzheimer's and related dementias (ADRD), their families and caregivers. Key programs include: - Helpline, a multilingual telephone information, referral and crisis-management service; - Professional care counselors (bilingual and bicultural social workers) who assist family caregivers by providing support, disease education, counseling, and help connecting with needed services; - Caregiver and community education programs, in a variety of languages; - Early stage support groups; - Memory Mornings, a program offering cognitively stimulating activities to people in early to middle stages of ADRD and their family caregivers; - Memories in the Making, a fine arts therapy program; - Over 100 affiliated support groups conducted in five languages; - The website www.alzheimersla.org; - Digital and printed educational materials, including a telenovela, in various languages; - Community service development projects called Dementia Care Networks; and - Dementia Cal MediConnect, a locally-led, federally-funded effort to improve healthcare for people with dementia dually eligible for Medicare and Medi-Cal.
