In addition to the Council programs, the Allied Arts Council is the umbrella organization for 16 member agencies. It serves its members by providing marketing support, advocating for the arts at the national, state and local levels, and by conducting an annual arts fund campaign to raise money for agencies that apply for funding support.
I am a member of RiverSong, a Sweet Adeline International chorus. We are a small chorus of 29 women who love singing and sharing our hobby. It's often difficult for a small chorus to complete everything that needs to be done to put on a show, host a guest workshop, fundraising, prepare for Regional Competition, etc. With the help of the Allied Arts Council in St. Joseph, MO we are able to make things work. We've used their assistance in advertising and marketing as well as fundraising. They are my go-to sounding board. The Allied Arts staff has a lot of experience and shares willingly. We can always depend on them for help.
The Allied Arts Council touches the heart of our community through arts experiences, education, advocacy, and partnerships with member agencies. Because of a culture of collaboration, competition is minimized while experiences are maximized. Each month, elected members and representatives of member agencies promote the arts as a single voice. The arts are alive and well throughout our community because we are working together to reach the underserved, provide rich arts experiences, and to bring the arts and people together.
