We adopted Callie (originally named Inara) 4 years ago and it was an awesome experience. We saw Callie's photo on their website and emailed them asking if she would be at their upcoming event so we could meet her. They responded to us promptly and coordinated with her foster parents to make sure she would be there. They take great pains to ensure that each adoption is a good match and they do a follow-up call to make sure there are no problems. One of the foster parents even provided us with pictures taken shortly after her birth. I cannot compliment this organization enough. They provide a great service to the community.

I adopted 2 cats from this rescue in 2010. They are an all volunteer network who seek out feral cats, spay/neuter them and socialize them for good homes.

My cats continue to be in excellent health and are terrific companions for the entire family.

I highly recommend!

I just can't say enough nice things about Alley Cats and Angels! They really take pride in what they do and truly love the cats/kittens as if they are their own. When we adopted the cried letting them go tears of joy and sadness. This is just something they have to do but they do out of love. These cats/kittens are their babies. I Haven't seen this anywhere else. So please adopt from them. They really love what they do.

Alley Cats & Angels is an amazing organization! In addition to accepting feral cats, they take on some of the most difficult medical cases as they truly want to help all cats and kittens. I'm not only a volunteer, but a two time adopter!

The volunteers in each of Alley Cats and Angels programs work tirelessly at creating a better community for cats. I am constantly astonished by the commitment level - from the very core members to the casual volunteer - it is an effort borne of love and dedication to help creatures whose lives are often considered expendable.

I adopted two littermates from Alley Cats, and it was a wonderful experience. They were very busy, and although I had to wait, I wasn't forgotten. They also didn't rush my decision. Everyone was friendly and clearly loves cats. The adoption process was thorough but reasonable. I highly recommend.

Alley Cats and Angels helped us find the perfect cat for our growing family. All the volunteers we worked with were friendly, kind, and professional. Our new kitty adjusted quickly to our large family and became fast friends with our dog.

I can't say enough good things about this rescue organization. They truly make a difference in the community. I started volunteering for Alley Cats and Angels when they helped me trap and home feral kittens in my neighborhood. One of their best attributes is that they are sensible and smart with their resources. They don't over-commit so every animal in their care gets the attention it deserves. I recommend Alley Cats and Angels for any one looking to adopt a cat or volunteer.

I work at the County Animal Shelter. This rescue , time and time again has pulled from us.
Not the cute little kittens, or gorgeous purebred cats.
They pull the cats that need major medical attention, the ones that would stand no chance at an open intake shelter. They invest in the best medical care for those, and all their cats. They find them forever homes.
They have also responded time and time again to the "dreaded last minute" call for bottle baby fosters.
This is a rescue with integrity, compassion and dedication.

I have volunteered with Alley Cats and Angels for a few years now. At first they were helping me to get the ferals cats I had started caring for spayed and neutered and even took in kittens that were born during the process. I started fostering for them. They care so much about the cats in their care and will spare no expense when it comes to giving them the best care. I have found many kittens that have all ended up being taken. They are willing to take in some of the sickest of kittens and give them the best care possible even if it requires expensive surgeries. Me and all the kitties that have crossed my path don't know what we would do without them.

I have been a volunteer (foster, events helper, admin stuff) with AC&A for six years. The care given to cats in the programs (adoption and barn) is outstanding. In addition the voucher program provides a low (or even no!) cost alternative for people to get their cats spayed/neutered. It's a really great organization full of dedicated volunteers looking to do the best for the cats.

What an amazing group of all volunteers! I adopted two kittens from them five years ago. From the very first contact I had with them they were great. I was impressed with their professionalism as well as how socialized the kitties were and how neat and clean their area was at the adoption event. They truly care about felines and go above and beyond to help them. So thankful for them and all the lives they save!

As a feral caregiver and advocate of TNR - Trap/Neuter/Return - I have firsthand experience in working with Alley Cats & Angels and have a comprehensive understanding in their role of saving lives in our community. I have lost count of how many kittens I have personally trapped that have ended up in the caring and capable hands of AC&A. By far, they are the most responsive and pro-active rescue in our area in the education of the plight of feral cats and their offspring and they work tirelessly to care for and socialize kittens that have the good fortune of being admitted to their adoption program. They, by far, exceed their willingness to take on the hard luck cases and will do everything in their power to ensure a good outcome for each and every animal. Their compassion extends to their adoption program in ensuring that the cats that are adopted are a good fit and that these cats also end up in good homes. The success of this group is a direct result of the tireless efforts of its founder and volunteers and every penny donated goes to the care of these animals. You cannot say enough good things about this group.

My role in the feral overpopulation in our area of North Carolina is that of caretaker of 8+ feral colonies, consisting of TNR (Trap/Neuter/Return), colony management, and education. I have become affiliated with several rescues, adoption centers, and TNR clinics in the 8 years of daily hands on interaction with feral cats. My experience with Alley Cats and Angels is one of the best of all the organizations that I have encountered. This group is all volunteer and they sink every earned penny into the well being of the cats, as there are no salaries drawn by any individuals nor a structure to house these kitties as overhead. ALL cats and kittens are placed in foster care and are rotated to different fosters to provide them the best socialization opportunities. This group of wonderful volunteers understands ferals and works diligently to socialize kittens, allowing them opportunities as pampered pets, as their screening process is second to none. Their "vetting" requirements are stricter than most and they do not pinch pennies when it comes to the health of these cats & kittens. On a personal note, they stepped in and paid emergency vet treatment for a sick kitten that I removed from a colony, which suddenly developed neurologic symptoms though otherwise healthy. They do not "blink" when it comes to offering care and a second lease on life to kittens and cats that are otherwise rejected by most other local rescue organizations. They also donate food to my colony efforts whenever they are able, which helps me immensely in keeping up financially in my feral management.
You will not find a better organization and group of volunteers which make this group so reputable and huge advocates for these animals. The economy has taken an enormous toll on groups such as this and additional funding would go a long way in helping Alley Cats and Angels to continue their mission.
PLEASE consider seriously this organization. They go out of their way and work tirelessly to help these animals. They are true "Angels" in our quest to reduce feral population in North Carolina.

I adopted from Alley Cats and Angels and it was a great experience. They asked the right questions to make sure the cats were being adopted into good homes but we not intrusive.

One thing I appreciated is when the adoption counselor told me some habits of the cat that weren't always the best (will steal food in a second, etc.). She said she wasn't trying to scare me away but they believe in telling people "the good, the bad, and the ugly" about each cat because if there is a behavioral habit/issue that someone is not willing to accept or work to change, it's not the right fit - and they want it to be the right fit. The cat I was interested in was not the right fit because of some behavioral quirks, but I ended up adopting another cat from them. I am so pleased with the process and how thoroughly the cats are vetted.

I am a volunteer and foster home for Alley Cats and Angels of NC. This group makes sure that rescued cats get to try different foster homes to see what kind of personality they have and compatibility with kids, dogs, and other cats. This helps the adoption coordinators place the right cats with the right forever homes for maximum success. They really care about what happens to each cat even after the adoption, following up with the adopters and always taking any cat back, even years later, if something happens.

Amazing, dedicated cat rescue. I've been aware of them for years and helped occasionally with petsitting some of their special needs (medical issues/behavioral issues) lifelong fosters. Extremely knowledgeable! I am most impressed by the "Trap, Neuter, & Release" program which assists barn cats and other feral felines who are not suitable for a "forever home" to continue their lives without being euthanized. I also appreciate the dedication they put into their fosters in terms of making sure they can ALWAYS come back to the rescue if the situation they were adopted into changes -- they keep a life long commitment to bringing those animals back into the rescue & caring for it. Incredible. We need more rescues like this one.

I have adopted several kittens from this group, they are always up front, walk you through the adoption process, and are willing to continue any conversation with you after an adoption. Many times I had a question and I contacted the group, and the help recieved was always courteous and helpful.

This is, by far, the best adoption group in and out ofor the Raleigh NC area.

Alley cats and angels is the only rescue I support. They are compassionate, responsible, and accountable. Their volunteers are dedicated to the well-being of stray and feral cats that come into their rescue and spend countless hours caring for these animals. They also do wonderful fundraising and educational work.

We were lucky enough to be adopted by our cat Hooligan two years ago, whom we got through Alley Cats and Angels. It's such a wonderful organization. Local, active, caring, humane. A true voice for our feline friends. Thanks to the amazing people who work/volunteer there, we get to come home to Hooli hugs, kisses, and nuzzles on a daily basis. Would definitely recommend giving them a try.
