Review for Preservation Chapel Hill, Chapel Hill, NC, USA
This nonprofit is now known as Preservation Chapel Hill.
As a volunteer for this organization over the last dozen years, I have observed the staff and other volunteers work hard on many preservation projects in Chapel Hill. It has used its Endangered Properties fund to save and restore historic buildings. In addition it is very involved in educating the public about the importance of historic preservation.
Perhaps its most important project has been the preservation and maintenance of the historic Horace Williams House and grounds. This house is the only historic house in Chapel Hill open to the public.

Review for Alley Cats and Angels, Apex, NC, USA
This organization has a devoted group of volunteers that spends many hours on their mission of finding "forever homes" for abandoned cats. I have observed the excellent care they give to the animals that they are rescuing.
