Review for Alley Cats and Angels, Apex, NC, USA

Rating: 5 stars

As a feral caregiver and advocate of TNR - Trap/Neuter/Return - I have firsthand experience in working with Alley Cats & Angels and have a comprehensive understanding in their role of saving lives in our community. I have lost count of how many kittens I have personally trapped that have ended up in the caring and capable hands of AC&A. By far, they are the most responsive and pro-active rescue in our area in the education of the plight of feral cats and their offspring and they work tirelessly to care for and socialize kittens that have the good fortune of being admitted to their adoption program. They, by far, exceed their willingness to take on the hard luck cases and will do everything in their power to ensure a good outcome for each and every animal. Their compassion extends to their adoption program in ensuring that the cats that are adopted are a good fit and that these cats also end up in good homes. The success of this group is a direct result of the tireless efforts of its founder and volunteers and every penny donated goes to the care of these animals. You cannot say enough good things about this group.

Review for Alley Cats and Angels, Apex, NC, USA

Rating: 5 stars

My role in the feral overpopulation in our area of North Carolina is that of caretaker of 8+ feral colonies, consisting of TNR (Trap/Neuter/Return), colony management, and education. I have become affiliated with several rescues, adoption centers, and TNR clinics in the 8 years of daily hands on interaction with feral cats. My experience with Alley Cats and Angels is one of the best of all the organizations that I have encountered. This group is all volunteer and they sink every earned penny into the well being of the cats, as there are no salaries drawn by any individuals nor a structure to house these kitties as overhead. ALL cats and kittens are placed in foster care and are rotated to different fosters to provide them the best socialization opportunities. This group of wonderful volunteers understands ferals and works diligently to socialize kittens, allowing them opportunities as pampered pets, as their screening process is second to none. Their "vetting" requirements are stricter than most and they do not pinch pennies when it comes to the health of these cats & kittens. On a personal note, they stepped in and paid emergency vet treatment for a sick kitten that I removed from a colony, which suddenly developed neurologic symptoms though otherwise healthy. They do not "blink" when it comes to offering care and a second lease on life to kittens and cats that are otherwise rejected by most other local rescue organizations. They also donate food to my colony efforts whenever they are able, which helps me immensely in keeping up financially in my feral management.
You will not find a better organization and group of volunteers which make this group so reputable and huge advocates for these animals. The economy has taken an enormous toll on groups such as this and additional funding would go a long way in helping Alley Cats and Angels to continue their mission.
PLEASE consider seriously this organization. They go out of their way and work tirelessly to help these animals. They are true "Angels" in our quest to reduce feral population in North Carolina.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

No changes needed - other than financial support. They know what they are doing!
