Mission: The society promotes the enjoyment and conservation of birds, their habitats, and the natural world by funding and implementing science, conservation, outreach and outdoor recreational activities and projects, in support of this mission.
Programs: Conservation and scholarships - science and conservation projects implemented by staff, partners, and volunteers, including the birmingham urban bird habitat initiative, alabama coastal bird surveys and banding, alabama coastal restoration, and graduate research focused on alabama species and habitats.

audubon mountain workshop - a four-day workshop offering courses about birds and other natural history topics for adults and children.
the society promotes birds and habitat conservation by funding, implementing and staffing conservation projects in public spaces; provides outreach through staff and volunteers to non-profits, educational institutions and public groups.
