Mission: Founded in 1987 as a partial answer to the crisis upon us caused by the increasing numbers of individuals infected with and dying from AIDS, the organization continues today to address the same crisis. As the face of AIDS changes the services offered change to meet new needs. ACSNJ has a minority staff of 60 employees and a volunteer minority board. Activities are directed to those infected and affected, as well as a strong prevention and education program. A great deal of ACSNJ's efforts are concentrated on the most needy population-those infected or at high risk who are homeless, have mental health and/or substance abuse issues and those in prison and jails and returning to the community.
