Mission: To help coordinate resources dedicated to preservation and improvement of the access and availability of health care throughout the state of louisiana; to serve as an advocate for louisiana health care issues; to secure and sustain a firm constituency of support for louisiana health care issues; and to foster the goals of louisiana's area health education centers.
Programs: Med job of louisiana contract with dhh: to enhance the process of recruiting and retention of qualified health professionals to rural and underserved areas and to provide appropriate data tracking of communities in need of qualified and trained health professionals.
the "search" program's purpose is to expose health care professionals to the underserved areas and placement of these professionals in those health professional shortage areas (hpsa) or medically underserved areas (mua) and to place national health service corps students and scholars in approved training sites.
